Soundcastle run music workshops where all nearly all the music used is created there and then by the participants. Soundcastle believe very strongly in paying close attention to who is actually in the room and what interests, inspires and maybe even challenges them. Workshops are an open and supportive place to make new friends and connect with other people through dynamic, active music making. Highly trained musicians, the team are used to working with all ages and abilities, often at the same time. Whether you are making a tentative return to music making after leaving it behind in your youth or a child exploring collective music making for the first time, everyone is part of the adventure to see what sounds will come out on any particular day.
If you want to check out a previous Soundcastle project have a look at this film of our Musical Beacons project which linked community groups in Bow and Charlton. Soundcastle are also the behind the recent Wilding Festival which marked 100 years since the death of Emily Wilding Davison and created a huge multi-arts splash at St George’s Bloomsbury last June.
Jenni Parkinson (marimba) and Gail Macleod (recorder) will be representing Soundcastle on Saturday, and are really looking forward to meeting the families at Coram’s Fields.
