We were really nervous about the launch event on Tuesday as we set up the huge projector. It was so big and heavy it took five of us to put it in position! Luckily the neighbours across the road had agreed to let us put up white boards in their windows so we didn’t loose much light.
We did a run through of the photo presentation in the office and then The Somerstown Café arrived with all the hot food and snacks. We also had mulled wine and warm drinks as it was a cold night.
At 7.30pm we started the grand premiere event! We all got ready to see our portraits up in the lights across the building and what we didn’t know was that our names came up before our work! Everytime one of our names came up everyone clapped. It was embarrassing, but nice.
Passersby stopped to gaze up and many were really interested in what we were doing, saying they had never seen anything like it before. All the local councillors came to celebrate with us and we got to explain to them about our work and what we had learned.
It was a really nice event and we were really proud to see our work up for everyone to see.
