We only have a week to go until the Cinter team host the Adopt-a-ShutterPatch workshops. The team have prepared their sourcing/shopping lists and are on the hunt in Camden to find materials.
Each ShutterPatch will be hand crafted and assembled by you, the public. Cinter are providing two workshops, and at the end of each workshop a number of you will get to keep your very own bit of sustainable vertical allotment.
ShutterPatch has been designed to engage communities with sustainable vertical growing. There is a great need for inner-city fertile growing space, and ShutterPatch utilises this vast vertical acreage.
The Cinter vision is to make community members stakeholders in their own environment and food provision. Establishing respect and then, in turn, care for their locality, each Patch requiring and teaching skills in woodwork and needlework.
The future of ShutterPatch sees high-rise buildings becoming a fertile space. This will bring with it colourful, environmental, attractive facades with direct benefits to community.
